Sclareol is an off-white to amber colored solid.The odor has a faintly woody characteristic; balsamic and amber-like.

Sclareolide:
A novel lactone produced from sclareol through chemical oxidation and subsequent purification.

Sclareolide is a white to off-white solid with virtually no odor.
