Cemented carbides are a class of materials widely used in drawing dies, because of their superior strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Cemented carbide punches and dies, well supported and properly aligned, are satisfactory for blanking and punching. Good ferrous and non-ferrous wire is drawn through a series tungsten carbide dies in a process of elongating and reducing the wire's diameter.
